50th Annual Brunswick Stew:   Big Success

As in the past, a lot of planning and work went into this years Brunswick Stew.  For two days, February 21 & 22, a number of brothers gathered to prepare and serve our famous Brunswick Stew.

Both days we had beautiful, spring-like weather with the temperature in the upper 60s.  There was some concern that the warm weather the day of the Stew would stunt the attendance, but the opposite proved to be the case.  We may have had the best turnout ever!

It was great to see so many of the brothers from our lodge and around the district come out and lend a hand.  As always, we also had the support of ladies from the Eastern Star and wives of some of our members.  We even had the Junior Grand Warden, Billy Dill, working with us both days.

The officers would like to thank everyone that helped make this years Stew such a big success.

Brunswick Stew Sponsorship

This year a number of sponsors were recruited to help defray the costs of putting on the Brunswick Stew.  Sponsors paid anywhere from $100 to $1,000.  They were recognized in a full page advertisement for the Stew in the Salisbury Post, on two large banners displayed at the lodge the day of the Stew, and on t-shirts (some of the t-shirts commemorating the Stews 50th anniversary are still available for $13, call our Secretary if you would like one).  We are very grateful to all of our sponsors for their support.
